To provide maximum traction and stability on all roads, All-Wheel Drive is standard on the Range Rover Evoque. But it costs extra on the GV80.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and the GV80 have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

On the EPA test cycle the Range Rover Evoque gets better mileage than the GV80:

Regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover Evoque’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. The GV80 doesn’t offer a regenerative braking system.

In its Green Vehicle Guide, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) rates the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque higher (6 out of 10) than the Genesis GV80 (5 to 6). This means the Range Rover Evoque produces up to 6.9 pounds less smog-producing pollutants than the GV80 every 15,000 miles.

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Land Rover Range Rover Evoque, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the GV80.

The Range Rover Evoque stops shorter than the GV80:

The Range Rover Evoque Dynamic SE handles at .86 G’s, while the GV80 AWD pulls only .79 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Range Rover Evoque Dynamic SE executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the GV80 AWD (26.9 seconds @ .65 average G’s vs. 27.4 seconds @ .63 average G’s).

For better maneuverability, the Range Rover Evoque’s turning circle is 1.3 feet tighter than the GV80’s (38 feet vs. 39.3 feet).

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover Evoque has a greater minimum ground clearance than the GV80 (8.3 vs. 8.1 inches), allowing the Range Rover Evoque to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 750 to 1400 pounds less than the Genesis GV80.

The Range Rover Evoque is 1 foot, 10.4 inches shorter than the GV80, making the Range Rover Evoque easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The Range Rover Evoque has a much larger cargo volume than the GV80 with its rear seat up (21.6 vs. 11.6 cubic feet).

A low lift-over cargo hatch design makes loading and unloading the Range Rover Evoque easier. The Range Rover Evoque’s cargo hatch lift-over height is 28.7 inches, while the GV80’s liftover is 31.7 inches.

Standard Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) on the Range Rover Evoque uses the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The GV80 doesn’t offer electronic trailer sway control.

If the windows are left open on the Range Rover Evoque the driver can close all of them from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the GV80 can’t use the remote to operate the windows.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are optional on the Range Rover Evoque to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The GV80 doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover Evoque offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The GV80 doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Range Rover Evoque has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel is only available on the GV80 SELECT/ADVANCED/PRESTIGE.
