The Range Rover Sport’s standard lane departure warning system alerts a temporarily inattentive driver when the vehicle begins to leave its lane and gently nudges the vehicle back towards its lane. A lane departure warning system costs extra on the Bentayga.

The Range Rover Sport’s driver alert monitor detects an inattentive driver then sounds a warning and suggests a break. According to the NHTSA, drivers who fall asleep cause about 100,000 crashes and 1500 deaths a year. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a driver alert monitor.

Both the Range Rover Sport and the Bentayga have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front and rear seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors and rear cross-path warning.

The Range Rover Sport comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Bentayga’s 3-year basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The Range Rover Sport’s corrosion warranty is 3 years longer than the Bentayga’s (6 vs. 3 years).

There are over 4 times as many Land Rover dealers as there are Bentley dealers, which makes it much easier should you ever need service under the Range Rover Sport’s warranty.

The Range Rover Sport SV’s 4.4 turbo V8 hybrid produces 84 more horsepower (626 vs. 542) than the Bentayga’s optional 4.0 turbo V8.

The Range Rover Sport can travel with zero emissions on electricity, only, on a full charge for 53 miles. The Bentayga Hybrid has to start its internal combustion engine after only 18 miles.

Regardless of its engine, regenerative brakes improve the Range Rover Sport’s fuel efficiency by converting inertia back into energy instead of wasting it. Bentley only offers a regenerative brake system on the Bentayga Hybrid.

The Range Rover Sport’s standard fuel tank has 1.3 gallons more fuel capacity than the Bentayga’s standard fuel tank (23.8 vs. 22.5 gallons).

The Range Rover Sport’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Bentayga doesn’t offer launch control.

The Range Rover Sport offers an optional full size spare tire so a flat doesn’t interrupt your trip. A full size spare isn’t available on the Bentayga; it requires you to depend on a temporary spare, which has mileage and speed limitations, or roadside assistance and a tow-truck.

The Range Rover Sport’s front to rear weight distribution is more even (51% to 49%) than the Bentayga’s (56% to 44%). This gives the Range Rover Sport more stable handling and braking.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs up to about 300 pounds less than the Bentley Bentayga.

The Range Rover Sport is 7.1 inches shorter than the Bentayga, making the Range Rover Sport easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The design of the Land Rover Range Rover Sport amounts to more than styling. The Range Rover Sport has an aerodynamic coefficient of drag of .29 Cd. That is significantly lower than the Bentayga (.34) and many sports cars. A more efficient exterior helps keep the interior quieter and helps the Range Rover Sport get better fuel mileage.

The Range Rover Sport uses computer-generated active noise cancellation to help remove annoying noise and vibration from the passenger compartment, especially at low frequencies. The Bentayga doesn’t offer active noise cancellation.

The Range Rover Sport has a much larger cargo volume than the Bentayga with its rear seat up (31.9 vs. 17.1 cubic feet).

The Range Rover Sport’s standard rear seats fold to accommodate long and bulky cargo. The Bentayga w/Four Seat Comfort Specification doesn’t offer folding rear seats, only a ski pass-through.

The Range Rover Sport’s standard towing capacity is much higher than the Bentayga’s (7716 vs. 7165 pounds).

Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) is standard on all models of the Range Rover Sport, using the Dynamic Stability Control sensors to detect trailer sway, then uses individual brakes to counteract any swaying and help keep the tow vehicle and trailer steady. The Bentayga Hybrid doesn’t offer a trailer sway program.

On a hot day the Range Rover Sport’s driver can lower all the windows from a distance using the keyless remote. The driver of the Bentayga can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Range Rover Sport’s power window, power lock, power mirror and cruise control switches are lit from behind, making them plainly visible and easier to operate at night. The Bentayga’s cruise control switches are unlit, making them difficult to find at night and operate safely.

To improve rear visibility by keeping the rear window clear, the Range Rover Sport has a standard rear fixed intermittent wiper with a full on position. The rear wiper standard on the Bentayga only has an intermittent setting, so in a hard rain visibility isn’t as good.

The Land Rover Range Rover Sport has a standard Homelink wireless remote control system for garage door operation and device management, conveniently located on the rear view mirror. Homelink® eliminates the need for separate garage door openers and associated risks of losing, breaking, or having dead batteries. Bentley charges extra for Homelink® on the Bentayga.

The Range Rover Sport offers an optional 115-volt a/c outlet on the center console, allowing you to recharge a laptop or run small household appliances without special adapters that can break or get misplaced. The Bentayga doesn’t offer a house-current electrical outlet.

The Range Rover Sport’s optional Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, starting, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Bentayga’s automatic parking system requires operating the brakes and transmission to safely park.

J.D. Power and Associates rated the Range Rover Sport second among large premium suvs in owner reported satisfaction. This includes how well the vehicle performs and satisfies its owner’s expectations. The Bentayga isn’t in the top three.
