Safety

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque has a standard driver’s side knee airbag mounted low on the dashboard. The knee airbag helps prevent the driver from sliding under the seatbelts or the main frontal airbag; this keeps the driver better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. A knee airbag also helps keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The E-Pace doesn’t offer knee airbags.

Both the Range Rover Evoque and the E-Pace have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning, driver alert monitors and available around view monitors.

Warranty

There are over 38 percent more Land Rover dealers than there are Jaguar dealers, which makes it easier should you ever need service under the Range Rover Evoque’s warranty.

Suspension and Handling

The Range Rover Evoque has standard front and rear gas-charged shocks for better control over choppy roads. The E-Pace’s suspension doesn’t offer gas-charged shocks.

The Range Rover Evoque Dynamic SE handles at .86 G’s, while the E-Pace SE pulls only .80 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The Range Rover Evoque Dynamic SE executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver 1.5 seconds quicker than the E-Pace SE (26.9 seconds @ .65 average G’s vs. 28.4 seconds @ .6 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the Range Rover Evoque has a greater minimum ground clearance than the E-Pace (8.3 vs. 8 inches), allowing the Range Rover Evoque to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

Cargo Capacity

The Range Rover Evoque has a larger cargo volume with its rear seat folded than the E-Pace with its rear seat folded (50.5 vs. 49.5 cubic feet).

Ergonomics

If the windows are left open on the Range Rover Evoque the driver can close them all from a distance using the remote. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the E-Pace can only close the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Range Rover Evoque offers available headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The E-Pace doesn’t offer headlight washers.

The Range Rover Evoque has a standard heated steering wheel to take the chill out of steering on extremely cold winter days before the vehicle heater warms up. A heated steering wheel costs extra on the E-Pace.

Recommendations

The Land Rover Range Rover Evoque outsold the Jaguar E-Pace by over 8 to one during 2023.
